Dr. Chandima Kumara Walpita Gamage, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, where his doctoral research focused on developing and evaluating a socio-culturally adapted counselling intervention to improve treatment adherence among patients with ischemic heart disease. His research interests include psychocardiology, health psychology, behavioural medicine, and nursing science, with particular emphasis on psychosocial determinants of chronic disease management and culturally appropriate behavioural interventions in healthcare. Dr. Gamage has published widely on cardiovascular health, mental health, emotional intelligence in nursing, and behavioural approaches to patient care. He is actively involved in teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development in nursing and allied health sciences. Read More >
